Local Organizer Achieves Professional Certification
Kathleen (KD) Durham, owner of KD SpaceLifts, has been recognized as a Certified Professional Organizer (CPO) after meeting stringent examination requirements. There are only nine professional organizers in Maryland who have achieved this recognition.
“This certification has only been available since 2007,” Durham said. “The process and structure of the CPO criteria raises industry standards and gives the public a point of reference when searching for a professional organizer.”
The Board of Certification for Professional Organizers is a not-for-profit body whose mission is to advance the credibility and ethical standards of the professional organizing industry. Applicants must have a minimum of 1500 hours of current industry experience before sitting for the CPO exam, which covers topics such as legal and ethical considerations, action plans, implementation and project management. Recertification is required every three years.
