An Afternoon of Classical Flair

Local music lovers are invited to today's piano recital at St. Margaret's Episcopal.

For a romantic afternoon of beautiful music, consider attending today’s piano recital at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church featuring the wonderfully talented Michael Berkovsky.

Winner of multiple international piano competitions, Berkovsky returns to the church’s music series with his deeply musical interpretations of great music for the piano.

This Valentine’s Day concert begins today [Feb.13] at 4 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Berkovsky is an active chamber musician and has collaborated with the Jupiter Chamber Orchestra, singers from the Toronto Opera Company and with chamber musicians from Juilliard and Peabody.

Berkovsky was born in the former Soviet Union and immigrated to Israel in 1990. In 2001, his family moved to Toronto, Canada. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The Juilliard School where he studied under Yoheved Kaplinsky and Julian Martin. Currently, he is a doctoral student at the Peabody Conservatory studying in the studio of Professor Yong Hi Moon.

He has participated in Master Classes with Leon Fleisher, Emanuel Ax, Joseph Kalichstein, Murray Perahia, Ilya Itin, Byron Janis, John O’Connor and Mikhail Voskresensky. He has also played in the Banff, New Paltz, Toronto, and Pianofest Music Festivals. 

The church encourages music lovers to bring a date along with a box of chocolates and have a romantic afternoon of fine music. The concert is free of charge.
