BHS Grad is National Merit Scholar

The Broadneck graduate will be attending the University of Chicago.

Curtis Winter, a graduate of Broadneck High School, was recently named the 11th and final Anne Arundel County student to earn a National Merit Scholarship this school year.

Winter earned the merit award from the University of Chicago, and is set to study economics later this year, according to a release from the Anne Arundel County Public School System.

College-sponsored scholarships typically range between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study. In all, 197 colleges and universities subsidized nearly 4,600 awards nationwide this year.

Congratulations to Winter for the award!
