Body of Missing Boater Found in Chesapeake Harbour
Of the three boaters, only one survived the accident that occurred in December near Sandy Point lighthouse.
The body of Tyler Cordrey, 25, of Eden was found washed ashore in Annapolis one month after a boating accident in December.
Cordrey had been missing since Dec. 17, when he went north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, near Sandy Point lighthouse.
Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) spokesman Sgt. Art Windemuth confirmed Cordrey's identity late Monday evening in a press release and said his body was found at 8 a.m. Monday in the 2200 block of Chesapeake Harbor Drive East. The confirmation ended nearly a month of uncertainty for the family of Cordrey and his friends.

Cordrey had been sailing with his girlfriend Taylor Rogers, 25, of Salisbury and friend Daniel DeNike, 46, of Laurel, when their 18-foot Precision sailboat capsized. All three were wearing life jackets when they went overboard, according to the NRP.
Rogers survived after being treated for hypothermia, but DeNike died in the hospital. Cordrey’s dog, Roscoe, was also lost in the accident.
