When Cape St. Claire Elementary students head back into classrooms this fall, they'll have a few new faces, including a new principal and assistant principal.

Lisa Leitholf was named the school's new principal, earlier this month. She is the former principal at Seven Oaks Elementary in Odenton. This week Janet Lancaster was named the new assistant principal on the school system's website.

Lancaster is a former vice principal at Seven Oaks Elementary, and once taught fourth grade at Cape St. Claire Elementary.

Over the summer, four longtime educators at Cape St. Claire Elementary retired, including principal Donna Pergerson, assistant principal Diane Lorton, special education teacher Ellen Harman and kindergarten teacher Cynthia Koontz.

School begins for elementary schools across Anne Arundel County on Aug.27.
