Child, 2 Adults Hospitalized After Car Strikes Tree

The victims were involved in a car wreck Tuesday on Maryland Route 450 on the Broadneck peninsula.

A 2-year-old girl and two adults were hospitalized in a car wreck Tuesday evening on Maryland Route 450 in Annapolis, a fire department spokesman said.

Anne Arundel County firefighters responded to a wreck at the intersection of Maryland Route 450 and Waveland Farms Road at about 7 p.m Tuesday for a report of a motor vehicle accident.

When firefighters arrived, they found a vehicle that had rolled over and collided with a tree, causing the victims to be trapped inside their vehicle, according to fire department Capt. Mike Pfaltzgraff.

Firefighters freed the individuals from the wreckage, and the 2-year-old girl was flown to the pediatric unit of John Hopkins in Baltimore by helicopter. A 32-year-old female was flown to the Shock Trauma Center, and a 35-year-old man was taken to the trauma center at Prince George's Hospital Center.

Both adult victims were listed in critical condition, Pfaltzgraff said. The condition of the child was not known as of Wednesday morning.
