Editor's Corner: I'm Official

D. Frank Smith joined Patch as the full-time local editor for Broadneck on Monday.

It's official: I'm the new editor of the Broadneck Patch. They even gave me a laptop, so you'll probably see me in from time to time.

I've been , but on Monday I was officially brought on as an editor with full responsibilities.

So, what does that mean for loyal readers?

Probably not much. But even if it doesn't change things on a day-to-day basis, I felt it was only proper to let readers know about the changeover in editor status. I now have my feet firmly planted in the ground here locally, and I hope my presence adds some stability to the coverage of this area.

If there's ever a topic or event you'd like to see me cover in the future, don't hesitate to send me an email. I'm still mapping out my coverage plan for the region, and I'm always open to fresh ideas.

I'm also open to criticism. Point out my flaws (I already know I'm not photogenic, so just skip over that one). Show me where you think my coverage could be better.

Help me fill out the calendar by adding your events here. Follow my updates on the Broadneck Patch Facebook page and Twitter.

I've said it before, but I genuinely want to make this Patch a place where people feel like sharing their lives and experiences with others in the community. To that end, I'm always looking for more people to help bring that kind of content to me by becoming one of our Local Voices.

If you're interested in becoming one of those voices, here's an article explaining how it works.
