Fatal Crash on Ritchie Highway in Arnold
Car runs a red light at College Parkway intersection late Tuesday night.
Lois Audrey Feick, 71, of Pine Trail in Arnold, died last night after a car ran a red light at the intersection of Ritchie Highway and College Parkway and crashed into her vehicle, according to a release from the Anne Arundel County Police.
The crash occurred around 11 p.m. Tuesday evening. According to police, a 2002 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Ritchie Highway approaching College Parkway and failed to stop for a red light at the intersection.
The Honda struck a 2004 Audi that was making a left turn from southbound Ritchie Highway onto College Parkway. The Honda hit the passenger side of Feick's Audi, which struck a 1998 Ford Contour that was also making a left turn from southbound Ritchie Highway onto College Parkway, according to the release.
Police say the driver of the Honda, Tyler Durant Stewart, 29, of 21 East Fort Ave. in Baltimore, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Lois Audrey Feick was the passenger of the Audi. She was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.
Feick's husband, Jack Schloh Feick, the driver of the Audi, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma.
The driver of the Ford Contour was a 16-year-old male of the 1400 block of Grandview Road in Arnold and his passenger was a 15-year-old male of the 800 block of Willys Drive in Arnold, according to police.
Excessive speed is not believed to have been a factor in this crash, but police say the incident remains under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.
