Vehicle Vandalizes Fields in Broadneck
Soccer practice has been canceled until the Broadneck Park field is repaired.
A series of wet tire tracks circle the lower field at Broadneck Park and Bay Head Park, and authorities are looking into it.
Broadneck Park is owned by Anne Arundel County, but regularly maintained by several local residents, including Broadneck Area Youth Sports (BAYS).
Kara McGuirk-Allison, the director of Friends of Broadneck Park, said a police report has been filed with Anne Arundel County, and they are looking for any information on the culprit.
"We need to send out a strong message that this kind of behavior in the parks that we all worked so hard to build will not be tolerated," McGuirk-Allison said.
The Broadneck Soccer Club posted on its Facebook page that teams have canceled practice due to the condition of the fields.
"We are extremely short on fields as it is. Any help finding the responsible party willing to volunteer their time and money to help with repairs will be greatly appreciated," a club representative said.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact Anne Arundel County police or BAYS at BAYSPlayground@gmail.com.

Leave the gates open 24 hrs, 7 days a week, this is what happens.
It has happened several times before (as I pointed out in earlier post).
AA County/ Bays....you are responsible for closing /opening the gates.
What a shame! And I feel bad for all the hard work that put into this.
But.......I'm not surprised. Somebody take charge!

LaRue I was thinking of you today and hoping you would see this! If you heard anything this weekend please let me know. It may have been an ATV in which case the gates are a moot point. Regardless, the wonderful folks at BAYS and the county are taking action.

Fences need to be put up around the fields. I hope the new Bermuda field isn't another target. Hope they catch the culprits.
