Golf Tourney for Broadneck Park Still Seeking Players
The tournament will be held Sept. 15 and benefit the renovation of Broadneck Park's playground.
Know a local golf enthusiast? There are only a few more days to get them registered for a tournament next month that could win them a car with a hole-in-one, and all the proceeds go toward renovating Broadneck Park.
The Friends of Broadneck Park are hosting the golf tournament at Bay Hills Golf Club in Arnold on Sept. 15. Teams of four will compete in an 18-hole tournament with some massive prizes for those who can score a hole-in-one.
There are three par 4 holes at Bay Hills, with prizes for anyone who can sink a ball with one shot. The grand prize is a Lexus from Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis, another is $10,000 from Tom Massie of First Command Financial, and in the final prize, the winner can pick from either a Kindle Fire, a $500 Visa gift card, or a set of Cleveland XG16 Black Pearl Irons.
All participants will score a set of prizes, including vouchers for a free golf club.
The entry fee is $85, which includes the greens fee, cart rental, unlimited drinks from the beverage cart, and more.
The tournament is being organized by Kara McGuirk-Allison, who has been spearheading a variety of events dedicated to raising money for new equipment at Broadneck Park's playground. In April, she hosted Broadneck's first-ever kite festival. In July she hosted a Touch-a-Truck event that brought hundreds of kids to the park.
