How Will You Spend the Fourth of July in Broadneck?

Independence Day will be here before you know it. What are your plans?

The Fourth of July lands on Wednesday, and there's at least one big gathering planned in Broadneck to celebrate it.

A parade in Cape St. Claire leads the local festivities Saturday morning along Cape St. Claire Road, starting at 10 a.m. The local volunteer fire department will spearhead the lineup with its new fire engine, which also was seen in the Strawberry Festival earlier this month.

The parade route will be the same as the Strawberry Festival's, from the volunteer fire department along the main road up toward the Cape St. Claire Clubhouse.

Several local groups have thrown their hats into the mix, with Girl Scouts, Brownies and the Cape Kids Corner all scheduled to attend. Cape St. Claire United Methodist Church also will be there with a float, according to the Facebook group "I Live in Cape St. Claire."

If you're planning to attend festivities outside of Broadneck, downtown Annapolis always has a decent fireworks show. And if you're looking for events in other areas, The Capital put up an article this week outlining the plans across the county.

So what are your plans for this year's Fourth of July celebrations? Let us know in the comments.
