Once-a-Week Trash Collection Starts June 4
The county will be collecting trash and recycling bins once a week starting next week.
Once-a-week trash pick-up will begin in Broadneck and Anne Arundel County on June 4. Your current recycling day will become your weekly collection day for recycling, yard waste and trash.
Patch posted an announcement on holiday trash pickup in April that brought in 30 comments pertaining to the new once-a-week schedule.
Here are a few tips from the county:
- The time of collection will change. Set out all of your materials by 6 a.m.
- Recycling, yard waste and trash collecions may occur at different times throughout the the collection day.
- For trash, use strong bags and secure them to avoid odors and litter.
- Use trash cans with handles and tight-fitting lids.
- You can place an unlimited amount of recycling at the curb.

Good to know that they now deal and collect recycling materials too. This would help us compare our weekly trash versus how much we’re actually recycling on a weekly basis. It’s high time we gave the environment more thought and practice going green on a daily basis.
