Overnight Fire Damages Home in Arnold
One woman was hospitalized and two pets were killed in the fire.
Flames gutted a portion of a home in the 800 block of Windsor Road in Arnold overnight Tuesday.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department said that they responded at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday and immediately requested additional help after arriving on the scene.
It took 35 firefighters 20 minutes to get the blaze under control, according to fire department spokesman Capt. James Rostek. There is no cost estimate for the damage yet, but Rostek said the house was significantly damaged.
The owners of the home were out of state when the fire broke out but there were two tenants living there, said property manager Darlene Marks.
One of the tenants, a woman, was reportedly treated for smoke inhalation. Two pets, a dog and a cat, were killed in the fire, Marks said. The Red Cross was called to assist the family.
Rostek said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
