Matt Centrowitz qualified as a sprinter in the London 2012 Summer Olympics.

Matt Centrowitz, a 1,500-meter sprinter from Arnold, thanked his hometown neighbors via Twitter this week after seeing them show support for him in the London 2012 Summer Olympics.

"My small 100 house community put up a sign at the entrance for me! So cool!" Centrowitz said on Twitter.

Centrowitz is one of two Broadneck High School graduates competing in this year's summer games. Farrah Hall, a windsurfer, is also competing.

1,500 meters is not a sprint -- it is a metric mile. Matt Centrowitz is a mid-distance/distance runner and we are rooting for him to go all the way!

True, but it seems like a sprint as fast as they run. Matt and the entire family are good people and its nice to see our neighborood getting behind him. Definately a feel good story.
