We decided on a smaller tree again this year. And I really do mean small. It's about one foot tall, which makes it pretty easy to decorate.

Our traditional ornament is a German pickle. A German tradition was to hide a pickle in the Christmas tree after all the other ornaments were hung. In the morning, if a child found the pickle, they'd get an extra present. If an adult found it, it meant good luck for the next year.

So you're welcome for all of that good luck.
