Police Arrest Three After Millersville Gun Incident

No injuries were reported in the incident. The motive for the gun firing remains under investigation.

 

Police said two men were arrested on handgun-related charges and one was charged with traffic violations after a gun was fired in Millersville on Friday afternoon near Veterans Highway.

Anne Arundel County police were investigating a report that a man who was running toward a fast-food restaurant in Millersville at 4:15 p.m. was shot at Friday. An officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description in the report, but the vehicle fled when the officer exited his car, according to a police press release.

Two suspects reportedly fled on foot: The driver was apprehended and two other suspects were apprehended shortly afterward. The handgun believed to be used in the shooting was found in a wooded area along Green Leaf Terrace, police said.

The person or persons who were being shot at did not come forward and have not been identified. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Three people were arrested as a result of the traffic stop and recovered handgun, and charged with misdemeanors relating to the incident. Two were from Severn, and one was from Glen Burnie, according to police.
