Well fought. Both teams gave a lot in a suspenseful game. So happy for the Ravens and Maryland. Let the celebrations roll on. :)

That's our Ravens. By the skin of their teeth and the seat of their pants, wouldn't have it any other way. Half time stunk, and that power outage was scary. Wonder if that was a cyber attack, but YEA, RAVENS. Thanks to the whole team for a job well done.

The Ravens adopted a revamped version of it—new lyrics—in 2010.

Hope Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Martin O'Malley don't get too fat from enjoying all the fine food payoffs from their playoff bets! Go get 'em Ravens!!

Pass interference....defense...automatic first down!! Kapernick in the shotgun and runs the ball in 36-34 49ers!!!

So there was a bad call or two that hurt the Niners. There were a couple against the Ravens, too. Remember Joe looking disgusted when the replay clearly showed interference (not called) against Smith? Could have been 41-36 Ravens, too

Snake, it was possibly holding, def. not pass interference. At best you could make the case for offsetting penalties and replaying the down because the niner player was obviously pushing off.

Calling it like it is... there were offsetting penalties.

The 49ers won that game and the city of Baltimore knows that no matter how you look at it!!! PS I'm not a 49ers fan either!

Snake Skin, I live outside Baltimore but, I know the Ravens won.The NFL confirms it. Refs make calls or miss making them and there in controversy in every game up to and including this one. The human factor is always there, even with using a replay. It was a well matched game but..........the final decision has been recorded and the trophy has gone to the Ravens......for a year. No one is going to force you to be happy about it, though.
Looking forward............ March Madness is coming fast and then baseball spring training and the O's might be hot this year.........

Sorry Snake skin.... but both defender and reciever made contact with other.... the pass was also overthrown and deemed to be uncatchable.... that is why no flag was thrown.... the refs were right there and had a good angle on it.... The refs missed penalties on the 49ers.... Flacco was hit hard by a 49er when he was already out of bounds and no flag was thrown... but that is the game of football... bottom line... Ravens defense held and they did win the game !!!

Fantastic game Ravens.

I do have a question though. Does anyone know what would have happened if the authorities in New Orleans would have had to take 12 hours to restore the power to the game? What do NFL rules say about it? Would the Ravens have simply been delcared the winners or would the entire game be rescheduled at the same score and time elapsed at a later date? Thank God this didn't happen, but what if it did? For that matter, what if this or some other unforseeable event happened during any regularly scheduled game?

Something the league should definitely address, if they haven't already.

VERY good question that needs some serious thought by league officials; the answer then most definately needs to be put into the rules & regulations book. Can you imagine?? What WOULD they've done?? And as far as them saying it would never happen, my answer to that is "NEVER say NEVER" !!

I'm wondering what would have happened if the lights went out during a play. Imagine if it happened during Jacoby Jones' runback. Would they have called the play back?

Hubby was blaming the Chinese - I think it was just crappy infrastructure. Guess we'll never know - doesn't really matter now, the Ravens got it and that's that . People who don't want to accept that can go pout in a corner :-)))

Too funny about the "green energy" stadium.

http://energy.gov/articles/super-bowl-city-leads-energy-efficient-forefront

Super Bowl City Leads on Energy Efficient Forefront.
"To make this the greenest Super Bowl, the New Orleans Host Committee has partnered with fans and the community to offset energy use across the major Super Bowl venues. The exterior of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome features more than 26,000 LED lights on 96 full-color graphic display panels, designed to wash the building in a spectrum of animated colors, patterns and images. The system draws only 10 kilowatts of electricity -- equivalent to the amount of energy used by a small home -- and the lights are expected to last for many years before needing replacement.

Embracing energy efficiency and renewable energy is having a profound impact on attracting developers and private industry in the New Orleans’ re-building efforts. The push to re-invent this destination city contributes to making Sunday’s game the greenest in Super Bowl history."

Brownouts coming to a neighborhood near you in our new "green energy" economy.

Sanchez, don't be an effing idiot in every single thread, PLEASE. LED lights are "green energy"? LED lights cause power outages? What an absolute moron.

Glad O'Malley didn't blame BGE now he is running for Prez. Why would he? Well let's see it is known his stance against BGE won him First Govenor race carrying Montgomery and Prince Georges county against Erlich and his BGE. Not known because of GREAT MEDIA BGE doesn't supply much if any power to those counties it's PEPCO .
