The official start of the summer season was June 20. Since then the weather has warmed up tremendously, and people have been out in Broadneck beating the heat in a variety of ways.

I'd like to gather pictures taken by readers around town that show people enjoying the freedom, weather and everything else that summer is about.

To get things started, Patch reader Kara Allison-McGuirk sent in this photo of Amelia Peck and her two friends Lydia Bryce and Loralei Bryce selling lemonade outside over the weekend. 

The trio was able to earn about $60 toward a Broadneck Park playground fundraiser.

There also were some sights of summer in this year's Cape St. Claire Strawberry Festival on June 9.
