St. Margaret's Couple Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges

Detectives discover marijuana plants, cocaine, guns and thousands in cash.

Two St. Margaret’s residents were arrested on Wednesday after detectives discovered a stash of guns and drugs with an overall street value of approximately $215,000 in their home, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Charles Edward Mcloud, 35, and Linda Mcloud, 30, both of Forest Beach Road, were each charged with drugs and firearm charges. Another woman, from California, was also arrested on drug charges.

Anne Arundel County officers worked together with state and federal law enforcement to make the arrests in the incident, which involved a “significant amount of guns,” said Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy.

“We’re working together and seizing a lot of drugs and keeping them off the streets,” he said. “We’re also seizing a lot of guns. Who knows whose hands they could have fallen into?”

Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Special Enforcement Section intercepted and obtained a search warrant for a suspicious parcel at a local package sorting facility. According to police, detectives located 21 bags of suspected high-grade marijuana and made a controlled delivery of the parcel to a local hotel.

Detectives then arrested Cynthia Hathaway, who was coming to the hotel to pick up the parcel, and delivered it to a location in the Annapolis area, where, according to police, they observed Charles Mcloud take the parcel and walk towards his vehicle.

After arresting McCloud, police obtained a search warrant for his residence in the 300 block of Forest Beach Road in Annapolis where McCloud’s wife Linda was arrested at the home. Detectives located and seized an indoor marijuana grow of eight mature marijuana plants, three grams of suspected cocaine, 10 shotguns/rifles, four handguns, an Uzi machine gun and approximately $8,000 in cash.

According to police, the couple was charged with possession with two counts of intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana, manufacturing CDS, possession of cocaine, and possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime.

Cynthia Lynn Hathaway, of Garberville, CA, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of marijuana.
