Judge Declares Suspect in Theater Threat Case Competent
A district court judge has declared Kyle Nolan Tanner comptent after evaluating the results of a psychiatric evaluation that was ordered earlier this month.

The man accused of terrifying moviegoers at the Bow Tie Cinemas at the Annapolis Harbour Center on Aug. 2 has been declared competent for trial by a district court judge.
Kyle Nolan Tanner, 25, with no known address, appeared in court Tuesday on a mental health docket, said Michelle Smith, a prosecutor with the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's Office.
"The defendant Mr. Tanner was found to be competent by the judge, and his case is set for bail review tomorrow," Smith said. She wasn't sure what time the hearing would take place.
Earlier this month, District Court Judge Danielle Mosley ordered a complete psychiatric evaluation for Tanner after he allegedly interrupted a showing of Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted by shouting expletives toward the screen and the people in the theater.
The judge and attorneys reviewed the results of that evaluation on Tuesday.
Tanner is charged with disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and second-degree assault. He is being held withut bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Annapolis.

that is sad. i am not so sure, every infraction a human being makes. needs to be charged as a crime. these ppl and the public woud be much better served, if their mental illness was diagnosised and treated. rather then prosecuted and jailed. anybody else??
