It was a busy week at Patch, with stories ranging from big news in local sports, crime and government, all within a matter of days. I've taken the time to review the top stories of the week in case you missed any of the big ones. 

House Bill Could Pave Way for Elected School Board—A bill making its way through the Anne Arundel County Delegation would change the way county Board of Education members are chosen. A county delegate has proposed a hybrid board to replace the board's eight governor-appointed seats with three appointed and five elected seats. A vote on the bill was postponed from Friday until next week.

Tuition Hike Helps Balance AACC Budget—Anne Arundel Community College's Board of Trustees voted on Tuesday night to approve the college's 2013 budget, along with a tuition hike for its students, and a request for more money from the county government. The budget now moves to the desk of the county executive.

Woman Robbed in Chesapeake Academy Parking Lot—Police are looking for a suspect in a purse-snatching on Wednesday morning in the parking lot of Chesapeake Academy in Arnold. A woman was injured when her purse was grabbed from her shoulder by the suspect, and she was pushed to the ground. A school official said the suspect was not associated with the school and called it a random occurrence.

Best of Winner: Cravings for Breakfast—Cravings earned the most votes among readers for the best breakfast spot in town in Patch's first Best Of contest. Runners up were Naval Bagels and the Broadneck Grill.

Broadneck Best in County, Montgomery 'Club' Schools Shine—Broadneck High School's swim team beat out all other Anne Arundel County high schools at the state championship, but couldn't win against Montgomery County schools. They placed 11th overall in the final standings.
