Two men were seriously injured in a fall off of a deck in the 1500 block of Severncroft Road around 1:37 p.m. Thursday, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Chief Michael Cox.

The railing on the deck, which was attached to a single-family house, broke and the men fell 10 to 12 feet, Cox said.

One man, thought to be in his mid to late 40s, was flown to the shock trauma center in Baltimore by a Maryland State Police helicopter with life-threatening injuries.

The other man, thought to be in his early to mid 50s was taken to shock trauma with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
