Broadneck area Girl Scouts participated in a quilting project to celebrate 100 years in the USA and 50 years in Maryland.

More than 220 girl scouts from Service Unit 44 participated in the quilting project, among them, students from Magothy River MiddleSevern River Middle and Cape St. Claire Elementary schools in Broadneck.

In this video, Troop 1832 Leader Danielle Brown introduces the quilt and explains how the project started last year. The quilt was unveiled Monday at the Broadneck Library, and will be on display at the library throughout March, before it is moved to the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland Archive in Howard County.

Patch was at the Monday event and took enough photos to fill a photo gallery, in case you missed it.
