“FENG SHUI: 101A”
(Pronounced “Fung Schway”)
The practice of Feng Shui,
though in existence for several thousand years, is even more pertinent to
modern living as we strive to achieve and maintain balance in our hectic,
technology-riddled lives. Professional
Organizer & Senior Move Manager®, Susan von Suhrke, has
practiced Feng Shui for over 15 years. After
founding Timely Transitions® ( www.timelytransitions.org ) in the
Fall of 2007, Susan found herself frequently implementing Feng Shui principles
with her Professional Organizing and Senior Move Management clientele. Having
recently completed the Practitioner Immersion course at the Western
School of Feng Shui® in Encinitas, California, Susan will soon become a
Certified Practitioner of Essential Feng Shui®
On Tuesday, 12 February
from 7 to 8 PM at the Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi
in Arnold, Susan will talk about the basics of “Form School” Feng Shui, as adapted
for Western culture by the Western School of Feng Shui®. At its simplest, Feng Shui is the practice of
arranging one’s environment to achieve a harmonious, well-balanced and
welcoming atmosphere. Feng Shui
principles may be applied to a business or a residence: to one room or to an
entire building; a complete property or simply a desk top. In her presentation at Jing Ying, Susan will
discuss the principles of Yin-Yang, the Five Elements and the Bagua as interpreted
in Essential Feng Shui®.
Susan von Suhrke is a
member of Toastmasters International, and has given presentations and workshops
to a number of local organizations, including several Anne Arundel County
Senior Activity Centers, The AA County Department of Aging & Disabilities,
the Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce, and church organizations. She coaches a monthly De-Clutter Support
Group at the Pascal Senior Center, and is also an adjunct professor at AACC,
teaching continuing education classes related to organizing and Senior-relocation
issues. Susan has been a member of the
National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM) since 2007 and the
National Association of Professional Organizers since 2008.

More About Jing Ying Institute
Jing Ying (meaning "best of the best") Institute opened in its present location in November of 2000. Hidden away in an old industrial complex, students will be surprised at how large and well equipped it is on the inside. With 4,000 square feet and 3 separate training areas, there is plenty of room to train. An assortment of heavy bags, pads and other equipment give students plenty of training options.
Specializing in the discipline of the Northern Shaolin Kung Fu system, they offer separate classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced level students. This assures your class time is used most effectively to cover skills appropriate for your level. The well structured and progressive curriculum helps beginners of any ability or fitness level improve and advance. The regular kung fu program includes classes 6 days a week. A beginner has over 12 classes a week they can attend and students can switch freely between the classes or attend as many as you like without additional cost. As you advance, you have even more classes to chose from. With more than 2 dozen classes offered per week, you can find a program or time that fits your schedule. There are also 4 sparring classes per week for adults and 1 for children. Discounts are offered for multiple members of the same family and advanced tuition payment.
Stop by their studio to observe or ask about their introductory class. Visit their website for more details about the curriculum and class schedule.
