Anonymous Donor Gives $1,000 to Goshen Farm Society

A $1,000 donation was bestowed to the Goshen Farm Preservation Society during their months long fundraiser, a society representative said.

For the second time in two years, an anonymous donor left a $1,000 donation for the Goshen Farm Preservation Society.

Society President Barbara Morgan said the donation came online through Network for Good, a nonprofit fundraising site.

"We still have an account there, but there isn't a link on our website anymore, so whoever this person is, they are aware of our connection from years ago," Morgan said. "We are so grateful, but we would love to thank whoever it is in person."

The society has been raising funds for several years to preserve a historic home at Goshen Farm. In 2008, the state legislature approved a matching grant for up to $150,000 to assist in raising funds for the project.

The cutoff date for that fundraising is Feb. 1. Morgan said they likely won't meet the goal, but the state funds will match whatever amount the society has raised across the past four years. Funds raised after that will still go toward the project, they just won't be matched by the state.
