Arnold Senior Center Announces April Events

Activities for seniors on effective communication and reducing clutter are scheduled throughout April in Arnold.

  • April 3—Exercise classes are canceled, as the room for these classes will be used as a polling place for the Board of Elections on Primary Day.
  • April 6—The center will be closed in recognition of Good Friday.
  • April 9—The center will be closed for a county service-reduction day.
  • April 11—Kater Leatherman, a professional organizer, budget redecorator, and real estate stager, will present a workshop, “What To Do With Your Stuff,” from 10-11 a.m. at the center. The workshop will cover how you can reduce clutter and organize your belongings and your life. Learn strategies for downsizing your possessions, learn ways to get support, and find out how keeping too much stuff can affect your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Sign up by April 10.
  • April 25—Do you want or need to have a conversation with a family member, friend, neighbor, or co-worker that you are feeling uncomfortable about? Do you rehearse it in your mind over and over? Would you like help in having that conversation? Are you interested in learning more about effective communication? What about the emotional aspects of the conversation? Get some help with Medication Services of Annapolis from 10:45 a.m. to noon at the center during this interactive “Effective Communication” presentation.
  • May 4—Sign up now to be a volunteer or donate items before the “Spring Fling” to be held from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the center. Organized by ASI and the center’s Advisory Council, the event will have a flea market, food for sale, a plant sale, jewelry sale, a 50-50 raffle, and the start of the center’s new walking club.
