Author of Novel Set at Naval Academy to Speak at Library

Stephen Phillips, author of "The Recipient's Son," will be on-hand Tuesday at the Broadneck library to talk about his latest book.

A novelist whose newest book is set at the U.S. Naval Academy in the 1990s will visit the Broadneck Library Tuesday.

Stephen Phillips, author of The Recipient's Son, published in September, will be on-hand Tuesday at the Broadneck library to talk about his latest book. 

The Recipient's Son is about a young man at the academy struggling with his legacy as the son of a war hero killed in the Vietnam War.

Phillips is a Naval Academy graduate himself, and provides vivid details of life in the Naval Yard, examining concepts of leadership, honor and self-sacrifice, according to the book's description

Phillips will be at the Broadneck Branch Library at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
