The Cougars of Cape St. Claire maintain a busy year-round schedule of activities

The Cape St. Claire Recreation Council Inc. sponsors an extensive youth sports program in our community. With more than 10 sports to participate in, there is something for everyone—including soccer, rugby, football and cheerleading.

The fall soccer season is currently in full swing and having fun is a main priority along with safety and learning. A lot of maintenance improvement work was done on the main Cape field (Graul’s Field) this past year, resulting in one of the best fields in the County. There are plans for improving the fields at as well. This fall, approximately 700 youth are participating in the soccer program.

Cougars’ fall cheerleading is designed for sideline football cheering at games and area competitions. It is also an opportunity for youth to engage in team building, leadership, camaraderie and fun.

We all see the kids playing the various sports when we are out and about in the Cape. But what we don’t usually see is all the hard work of the many, many dedicated volunteers on the field, and behind the scenes who devote so much of their time and energy to make Cape Sports an important part of our community. See the Cape Sports website for more information.
