Check Out 'Places' in Broadneck

New section of Patch website focuses on Broadneck business and community "places."

Hard to believe it has been eight months since we launched Broadneck Patch. Over the months, we have had a different look and added several new functions of the website. All are to keep readers more informed about the community.

One of my first jobs after I was hired was to travel around Broadneck and learn about (and take photos of) local businesses, organizations, and community resources in the area. (I also had a lot of help from locals with this effort.)

All of our photos and narratives about each site was included in a comprehensive directory that really set Patch apart from other business listings websites. Sometimes it got lost as we built up our local news stories, columns, and blogs.

One of the latest new looks for our Patch site these days is what used to be known as our "Directory." Now called "Places" on our navigation bar, we still feature local listings as well as an easier way to rate and review community sites you have visited.

Here are ways to effectively use this resource:

- Quickly reshuffle listings by clicking "Get More" at the top or bottom of the page.

- Simply click the number of stars under the name of the business if you wish to rate it.

- Say something about a listing or write a review by clicking "review" and going straight to the listing.

- Search for a listing using our search bar at the top of the page.

- Claim your own listing (if you are a business owner or head of an organization) and add your own photos or PDF's and other info. (You can update as often as you'd like for free.)

The Patch team hopes that you enjoy the new Places page and that you use it to learn more about the Broadneck community. I'd love to hear your feedback. Please e-mail Laura.Tayman@patch.com with your thoughts.
