Montessori Religious Ed

(Preschool Children) Discover the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS), a unique approach to religious/spiritual formation that is deeply respectful of young children, their rich relationship with God, and the ways they developmentally respond to nurturing this relationship.  Although not officially associated with a particular parish, members of St. Mary’s will offer it at their home in Pendennis Mount near the WWII memorial on Rt. 450, starting on Sunday, September 30, from 9 to 11 a.m.  Central to this approach is the application of Montessori principles in preparing the catechist and the atrium, a lovely and prayerful environment which may be likened to a retreat center for children, and the use of beautiful, hand-made materials that help concretize Scripture and Liturgy.  Space is available for children who will be 3 or 4 years of age in the upcoming school year.
