Fall is Official in Cape St. Claire

Annual Festival Celebrates the Season

Nothing says fall like stuffing scarecrows and going on hayrides, and the community of Cape St. Claire had it all at its recent Halloween festival.

Cape resident Mary Lamb coordinates the annual event held outside of the community center every October.

"We wanted to have something for the kids to enjoy," said Lamb about the event. "It is great to see so many families having a good time together."

Though the inflatables were always a popular stop, kids also managed to get creative with various craft tables set up around the parameter of the setup.

There was also an opportunity to use some math skills and good old fashioned estimating while guessing the weight of two enormous pumpkins featuring prominently at the site.

Various vendors were set up inside the center selling everything from jewelry to quilts. Lamb said their participation is critical in helping with the costs associated with the day.

Despite the crowds and the time and energy required to pull off such an event, Lamb is already planning the next community affair- a safety awareness day next Saturday at the center from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
