Get Out: Plays, Princesses and the Easter Bunny

The arts take center stage over the next few days in the Broadneck area.

Please note that the Broadneck Car Show sponsored by the high school's Class of 2011 has been moved from Saturday to the rain date of April 30.

1)  Princess Program Take Two

When/Where:  Thursday, April 14 at 6 p.m., in the Broadneck Library on Green Holly Drive.

Why Go:  The library staff will host a positively perfect princess evening for ages 4 to 8. Don’t forget your costumes and camera!

Price:  Free.

2)  MRMS presents “Cinderella”

When/Where:  Thursday and Friday, April 14 and 15, 7 p.m., at Magothy River Middle School.

Why Go:  Magothy River students perform the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical version of this favorite fairy tale. 

Price:  $6 at the door.

3)  CTA presents “Night at the Wax Museum”

When/Where:  Friday and Saturday nights, April 15 and 16, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday afternoon, April 16 and 17, at 2 p.m. at the Children's Theatre of Annapolis theater on Bay Head Road.

4)  “Big Love” at AACC

When/Where:  Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16, at 8 p.m., Sunday, April 17 at 2 p.m. at the Pascal Center for the Fine Arts, .

Why Go:  A dark comedy-drama written by Charles L. Mee and based on "The Suppliant Women" by Aeschylus, the story follows 50 brides as they leave their grooms and wind up in a villa that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.
 Due to the nature of this play, tickets are restricted to those ages 16 and over. 

Price: Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 for seniors, students other than AACC students, AACC employees and groups, and $5 for those with a valid AACC student ID. Seats are reserved for all shows.

When/Where:  Sunday, April 17, 1 p.m., at the main beach in Cape St. Claire. Please note the change in day and time for this event due to the weather forecast.

Why Go: Cape families are invited to order tickets, grab the kids and their Easter baskets and head over to the clubhouse for the annual hunt. The Easter Bunny will be available on the overlook for pictures. Hot dogs, hamburgers and sodas will be available for purchase during this event.  

Price:  Admission to the egg hunt is by ticket only. Tickets may be obtained from Richard's Tree Care in the Cape St. Claire Center during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.) Monday through Friday. The cost of a ticket is one dozen plastic eggs and one bag of individually wrapped candies small enough to fit inside of the eggs. (No hard candies.)

6) Scout Scrapbooking Fundraiser

When/Where:  Boy Scout Troop 2214 of Cape St. Claire announces its third annual “12-Hour Scrap and Crop” event on Saturday, April 16, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., in Severna Park.

Why Go: The day includes cropping space, snacks, door prizes and giveaways. Breakfast, lunch and dinner items will be available for purchase at reasonable prices.
