Updated: Cold Forecast for Night as Winter Descends on Broadneck

It's time to put those new winter coats to use.

Cold weather is forecast to hit Monday night, just before 30 miles-per-hour winds begin on Tuesday.

It's been a pleasant start to the new year, with sunny, warm weather. But that could all end tonight with a forecasted low of 24 degrees Monday night, as pockets of cold weather dots the region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

By Tuesday, strong winds of up to 30 miles-per-hour will greet students as they return to school from winter break.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. West wind between 10 and 13 mph. 

Tuesday: 
Partly sunny, with a high near 33. Breezy, with a northwest wind between 14 and 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. 

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 18. Northwest wind between 9 and 17 mph. 

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 33. West wind 7 to 9 mph becoming south. 

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. Southwest wind around 8 mph.
