Davy Dance Academy Performs Holiday Show

Local dancers show their skills in holiday-themed performance.

Davy Dance Academy dancers performed with professionalism and poise Saturday during the Holiday Block Party at the Annapolis Towne Centre.

The program began with a dance by the pre-ballet students to "Jingle Bells."

"It was a pleasure to watch the little girls dressed in ballet tutus dance with excitement and joy in their first performance," said Academy director Michelle Davy.

There were also performances to holidays favorites including "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" and "All I Want for Christmas."

The academy's intermediate and advanced ballet dancers also presented a selection from The Nutcracker, "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy," performed by Madeline Anderson and Jasmine Caffee with poise and grace.

Hip-hop dancers performed a high energy, pop-locking dance to Justin Beiber’s Drummer Boy. The movements were polished and synchronized from beginning to end.

"All of the dancers from Davy Dance Academy share one quality, a passion for dancing and ability to captivate an audience," Davy said.

More holiday performances by Davy dancers are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at FutureCare of Chesapeake in Arnold, and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at Heartlands Retirement Community.

The Davy Dance Academy is located in Cape St. Claire shopping center. For more information, visit the academy's website, or contact Davy at 240-476-6145.
