Mother's Launches Free Shuttle Service for Patrons

The shuttle is a phone call away for customers that live within three to five miles of the Arnold restaurant.

Having a night out drinking with friends at Mother's Peninsula Grille in Arnold just got a little more convenient, and a lot safer.

The bar and restaurant, which opened in October, recently launched a shuttle service that will pick up customers from their homes and drop them off at the restaurant. When they’re done for the night, the shuttle will take them back to their homes.

The service is free, and all customers need to do is give the restaurant a call with their address. As long as they live within three to five miles of the Arnold restaurant, the shuttle will pick them up.

The idea came from Mother’s bartender Dave Rather, who saw growing interest among customers in safely returning home after a night out with friends.

Mother’s manager Ryan Miller said the other side of the coin for the restaurant was being responsible after selling alcoholic beverages to patrons who then have to get back home somehow.

“We’re trying to be proactive,” Miller said. “We don’t want to see anybody leave here drunk. If they’ve had a few beers, they shouldn’t be driving, and late at night, there has been an issue in securing taxis.”

The shuttle service runs from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Mother’s is located at 969 Ritchie Highway in Arnold. The restaurant can be reached by phone at 410-975-5950.
