New Crab House Opens to Huge Crowds

Broadneck's newest seafood restaurant opened Friday at Ferry Point Marina in Arnold.

The Point Crab House and Grill opened on Friday to an at-capacity crowd. The restaurant has been doing so well, in fact, that the owner is having a hard time keeping the place stocked with fresh seafood.

Restaurant co-owner Bobby Jones said every night since the Point opened, it has served between 600 to 700 plates of food, and more than 150 pounds of crab meat.

"There have been more people than I ever would have imagined each night," Jones said.

On Labor Day around noon, I visited the restaurant and found a large crowd there already eager for lunch. But Jones came out and said the kitchen staff was waiting on a fresh food shipment, and they couldn't take orders just yet. Instead, eager lunch-goers were treated to free appetizers—Chesapeake-seasoned wings.

It was just enough to tide us all over until lunch could be served.
