PHOTO: Mother's Construction Coming Along

A stone facade is now visible at the construction site for Mother's Grille.

Construction crews have been working hard at the former Griffin's Grill, converting the restaurant into the Arnold location for Mother's Federal Hill Grille.

A stone facade can be seen along the side of the building, giving the former all-wood exterior a different look. Crews are preparing to continue that stone work across the front of the building.

Restaurant owner Dave Rather said in July he planned to open the restaurant and sports bar in the fall. The former Griffin's Grill will be renovated and modified to suit Rather's new designs for the building.

Among the changes will be a new LED light sign, new carpet and hardwood floors, new windows and a new, vaulted ceiling for the dining area, Rather said.

"We want to add some light and airiness to the building, make it more inviting," Rather said.
