Restaurant's Late-Night Shuttle Service Gets Makeover, Expands

The shuttle now sports decals and is expanding its coverage area.

Word has been traveling fast about Mother's Peninsula Grill's shuttle service for its patrons, and restaurant owners have seen fit to upgrade the vehicle in charge of these runs with some proper branding.

Dave Rather, bartender at Mother's, said the idea came to him after realizing late-night patrons were having trouble catching cabs on some evenings. The shuttle is a way to get these patrons home safely, but also to bring them to the restaurant if they know they'll have a night of drinking ahead of them.

"We think it's important so people can have a few drinks and not have to worry about driving," Rather said.

Restaurant owners plan on renting out the bus on weekends for large events. They also plan to take trips for Capitals and Orioles games and, of course, Preakness.

The shuttle currently runs Thursday through Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., when the restaurant closes. After reconsidering the demand, the bus will now pick up restaurant patrons who live in Pasadena, Severna Park, Arnold and Cape St. Claire.

"If groups want to come from a little further away, we ask them to make reservations in advance," Rather said.

Mother's Peninsula Grill is located at 969 Ritchie Highway in Arnold. For more information, visit the website, or its Facebook page.
