BGE Still Working on Outages in Broadneck

Some areas of Broadneck are still without power since the storm on Friday.

Baltimore Gas and Electric will continue their work to restore power to Broadneck customers on Thursday.

According to BGE, 6,496 customers in Anne Arundel County were still without power as of Thursday morning. Anne Arundel is the third largest county in terms of residents still without power.

BGE announced today that they have restored service to 92 percent of the more than 700,000 customers who have experienced an outage since Friday’s severe weather system. However, there are still places in Broadneck without power.

Facebook user Melanie Bailey Slaughter told Patch the Belvedere area was still without power. Calls to businesses in the southeast portion of the Broadneck peninsula indicated that some were still down due to no power, including salon.

Parts of Glen Eden and Cape St. Claire are also without power, users report.

was without power for 46 hours between Friday and Monday, according to Laurie Farrell, spokesperson for the community college.

Schools spokesman Bob Mosier sent out a release Wednesday night saying was still without power and all activities at the school were canceled. The school has canceled activities on Monday, Tuesday and now again on Thursday.

With temperatures holding steady in the upper 90s the on Church Road is still open as a cooling center for those who need a relief from the heat.
