Broadneck Coaching Veteran Villwock Retires

When Bruce Villwock left Broadneck High School at the end of the school year, he left a nearly 40-year legacy in Anne Arundel County sports.

Villwock, 63, is a veteran coach in a number of sports across high schools in the region. He spent 39 years in the Anne Arundel County Public School System.

Across his career he has served as:

  • Assistant football coach at Annapolis, Broadneck and Arundel high schools
  • Head coach at Broadneck
  • Football assistant at Severna Park High Schoolhead of boys and girls lacrosse teams at Broadneck and Annapolis
  • Coach of the indoor and outdoor track teams at Broadneck
Villwock also taught health, drug education and oversaw the Bully Busters club at Broadneck High.

Another longtime Broadneck coach, Scott Harrell, the school's wrestling coach, also left the school at the end of the year. His son Cameron Harrell was a state champion wrestler.
