Cape Kicks off Fourth of July with Parade, Contests, BBQ
The patriotic fun begins at 10 a.m. Thursday in Cape St. Claire.
The Cape St. Claire Improvement Association has lined up a series of activities to help celebrate the Fourth of July this year.
The events start Thursday morning with a parade starting at the Cape St. Claire Volunteer Fire Department at 10 a.m. This year, there will be prizes awarded to the most patriotic float and the most creative float.
The festivities continue at the Cape's main beach from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. where there will be games, food and fun, including:
- A tug-of-war contest, including a battle between firemen
- Sandcastle building contest
- Water balloon toss
- Spoon and egg races
- Watermelon eating contest
- Patriotic dessert contest
