Dozens Turn Out for 5K in Memory of Young Tenoch

The race is named after a 7-week-old boy, Tenoch, who died suddenly on March 30, 2011.

A 5K run to benefit the Chesapeake Life Center in the memory of a young boy was held Saturday along the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail.

The race, sponsored by Diana Silva and her husband Richard Sweeney, is named after their 7-week-old boy Tenoch, who died suddenly on March 30, 2011.

Silva said there are plans to continue hosting the race until enough money is raised for a memory and healing garden at the new campus of the Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena.

"The garden will honor the babies and their families," Silva said. "We had a great support from family and friends about 70 people, we hope next year we get will some new faces too."

The proceeds also benefit the perinatal program at the Chesapeake Life Center.
