Eco-Goats Return to Cape to Chew Through Invasive Species

Helpful, friendly Eco-Goats will return to Lake Claire to lend clearing invasive species starting next week, a Cape St. Claire official said.

Eco-Goats, a Davidsonville-based company, lent a few of their animals to the Lake Claire cleanup effort in April, organized by the Friends of Lake Claire, a group of local volunteers.

On Tuesday, the goats will come back to the lake for some more grazing, said Kathleen Mooneyhan, of the Cape St. Claire Improvement Association. The animals will be helping to remove phragmites from Lake Claire, where they are infringing on the local environment.

The group meets once a month to organize cleanups. If you are interested in pitching in, visit their Facebook group for more information.
