Share Your Broadneck Snow Photos on Patch

Nearly four inches fell in the Broadneck area by Monday morning, though forecasters said warm temperatures will keep roadways in decent shape. Let us know what you're experiencing.

That groundhog was a liar. 

Wintry weather struck the Broadneck region early on Monday morning with nearly 4 inches of snow. Snow is expected to continue rolling in through much of the day. 

Temperatures will be near the freezing mark, suggesting that roadways may remain relatively uncovered. However, before sunrise Monday, it did appear that snow was not only falling heavily, but accumulating.

Major roads including Ritchie Highway were cleared but remain slushy.

Keith Swindle, a Division Chief with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, said there were multiple minor accidents in the area. One crash on Interstate 97 took place at about 8 a.m. with one passenger transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor injuries.

It's worth noting that wet and icy road conditions caused serious problems in the area last month. 

The State Highway Administration said it deployed 2,700 crews to treat and clear roadways Monday morning. 

Public schools are already closed due to spring break.

The Arnold Senior Center is closed. 

Local libraries are scheduled to open at 11 a.m.
