Get Out and Enjoy Spring in Broadneck

Nature's signal for warmer weather began Tuesday morning.

Spring began Tuesday morning, even though the weather is a little chillier than Monday, the last day of winter.

Now that the new season has begun, we can look forward to warmer weather, blooming flowers and all the sounds of wildlife waking up from a long sleep.

is also now offering signups for their Bonsai Workshop, taught in conjunction with the Baltimore Bonsai Club. The classes will be taught at Arnold Farms by experienced bonsai owners, said Arnold Farms associate Jonathan Wayne.

"This will be the 101 on bonsai trees. Experts will share their tips with the classmates. They'll learn everything from how to start a bonsai, to bonsai nurturing and longevity," Wayne said. "They're kinda hard to actually grow."

Spring also marks the beginning of many spring sports. The first girls lacrosse game will be played at Broadneck Park on Saturday.
