Bullying Prevention Workshop on Nov. 12th

Concerned about bullying in our schools? Joseph Van Deuren will teach parents how they can help their children deal more effectively with bullying.

The Parents Advocacy Network has teamed up with Balanced Life Skills to present a bullying prevention workshop for parents on Monday, November 12 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in Room 219 of the Cade Center for Fine Arts building at the Anne Arundel Community College campus in Arnold. The workshop is free and open to anyone concerned about bullying in our schools and community.

Joseph Van Deuren, a nationally-recognized expert on bullying and suicide prevention, will recommend how parents can help their children deal more effectively with any bullying they are currently encountering as well as steps to take to avoid becoming a target of bullying in the future. The group will also discuss actions that could be taken to reduce the incidence of bullying in our schools.

Since bullying was the #2 concern raised about Anne Arundel County Public Schools by the 4,000+ respondents to the Citizen Advisory Committee’s April 2011 survey, we are very pleased that Mr. Van Deuren has offered to help concerned parents deal with this serious problem.  Please join us on the 12th!
