Anne Arundel County To Raise Water and Sewer Fees

Anne Arundel County To Raise Water and Sewer Fees On New Homes.

Builders are now confronted with legislation that would raise water and sewer connection charges in Anne Arundel County.

Bill 37-11, which would quickly raise the water system capital facility charge to $5,500 from $4,500 and then up to $8,400 by 2015, is now on the Council’s docket.

The same legislation would bump the wastewater system connection charge from the present $7,000 to $7,300, and then up to $8,700 by July 1, 2015.

Together, the two fees would grow from $11,500 fee of today to $17,100 in four years.  It appears the first increases would be effective later this year.

The prices of new homes continue to rise, while the inventory of residential sales decrease with every short sale, bank owned and foreclosure settlement.  If you are looking to buy a home, now is a good time to look at the residential inventory.
