The Old Capital Newspaper Headquarters Being Developed
Owner asking for zoning waiver to add new homes.
West Street Townhouses On The Horizon
The Bozzuto Group, developer of the high-rise Mariner Bay Apartments at Towne Center, is making plans for a grassy tract in the middle of the West Street corridor. The Greenbelt developer has the former Capital Newspaper headquarters at 213 West under contract, and is seeking a text amendment at the City that will allow it to develop the site with 23 towns and seven singles.
Bozzuto wants a waiver from the MX zoning requirement for first-floor retail. Bozzuto officials say there is too much vacant retail along West Street as it is, and adding to the supply is financially infeasible.
