Obituary for Austin Lee Sivert

Funeral services were held on Thursday, 11 a.m. at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church

Austin Lee Sivert, 94, of Arnold, Maryland (formerly of Laytonsville, Maryland), passed away December 14, 2012 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Born in Houston, Pennsylvania, on January 13, 1918, Austin was the son of Daniel Boone and Bertha Lee Dukes Sivert. He graduated from Barnesville High School in Barnesville, Ohio. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in World War II. He had a long and successful career in the automotive service industry where he began as a mechanic and advanced to service manager. Most of his work years were spent at Divver Dodge and Fitzgerald’s Colonial Dodge in Bethesda, Maryland.

Austin was devoted to his family. He loved to drive and enjoyed football, especially the Redskins and the Navy, gardening, traveling, roller skating, and browsing at flea markets. He enjoyed his many years of retirement spending time in Florida and Maryland with family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Patricia Pesaturo (John) of Arnold, Maryland, Barbara Sivert of Daytona Beach, Florida, Thomas Sivert of Naples, Florida, and Carol Sarge of King George, Virginia. His grandchildren, Bruce (Alisa), Bryan, Jessica (Ben), Alex (Emily), Donny, Savannah, Tammi, Tommy, and Anna, and his great grandchildren, Collin, Addison and Brooke, also survive him. He was preceded in death by his son Daniel Sivert (Bette) and his brother Harold Sivert (Therasa).

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, Severna Park, Maryland. Interment will be at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Virginia, at a later date.
