Obituary for William 'Bill' M. Wiseman

William Michael Wiseman, 85, of Arnold, Maryland passed away on Dec. 18, 2012 of respiratory failure surrounded by family in Apollo Beach, Florida.

William Michael Wiseman, 85, of Arnold, Maryland passed away on Dec. 18, 2012 of respiratory failure surrounded by family in Apollo Beach, Florida.

Bill was born on Sept. 13, 1927 on the same property where he was raised and lived his entire life. He married Arleen Johanna Ryer on May 7, 1955. He attended St, Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Annapolis High School. He was a Korean War veteran, charter member of the Severna Park B.P.O.E. 2482 as well as a charter member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church. Upon returning from the war, Bill along with his brothers George and Fred, started Staar Contractors, an excavating and grading company. He founded his own excavating and grading business, Arbill, in the early 1970s, where he worked until his retirement at age 72. He was an avid bowler, playing and sponsoring several leagues at the Severna Park Bowling Lanes.

He is predeceased by his brothers, Frederick, George and his wife Doris, Lawrence and John, as well as his sister, Helen Saia and her Joseph.

He is survived by his wife, Arleen; his son, Michael and his wife, Lynn; his daughter, Michele (Hohman) and her husband Bill; and his grandchildren, Meagan, Cailin and Shelby. He is also survived by his sister in laws, Anna Marie (Lawrence); Alice (Frederick); and Ruth (John).

Friends and family may visit at Barranco & Sons, P.A., Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Highway Severna Park, MD 21146 on Friday, Dec. 21 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Barranco & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 11 a.m.. Interment will be at Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Arnold, MD.
